Two red rings

As you can see I found another ring like my Great Aunt Olive's (on the pointer). The new ring (middle finger) is old too but only from the '30s. It was in mint condition, and I bought it for  eight dollars. I'm afraid to wear the really old ring for fear of losing a stone so now like the super-rich I have a fake ring to wear in place of the real one.

my hands today

I'm wearing some of my rhinestones today, Mixing the faux with the real. I like the way the rhinestone swirl suggests a snake which is then manifest on the other hand. Right nest to the snake is one of my favorite rhinestone rings, three large stones surrounded by 14 small ones.

Straight from GemGossip

This blog is straight off the GemGossip blog. I don't usually copy other bloggers but this is such exciting news. The largest ever natural round pearl will be auctioned on Dec.7. It is described as a "quail egg sitting on a diamond cracker" I think the Queen of England should buy this. She loves broaches.

I gave my friend a choice between these two necklaces for her birthday. She choose the black. But really the pinks are nice except for the clasp. I'm thinking of having them restrung.

my hands today

Still on the black diamond and animal kick. I got my new mosaic black diamond ring yesterday and really love it. The mosaic looks like a little sample of snake's skin. Therefore I matched it with my pave snake ring.

some nice lockets

Here are some charming lockets that caught my eye on eBay this morning. I particularly like the crescent moon motif! And the little girl from Spain is almost irresistible. A large gold heart is a standard in any wardrobe.

The look I like

I love this wedding set. I particularly love the little pebble matched with the high wattage diamond. I love natural stone set as jewels. And if I were an artist I would love to make stackable rings from beautiful pebbles. I have an entire quarry down by my stream.

The ring I bought

I ended up buying this mosaic of rough black diamonds. It happened sort of by accident. There had been a lot of bidding on this ring, but it as still super cheap. I added .05 cents to the current bid and went to bed. Imagine my surprise to wake up owning it. I had been wanting a rough cut stone but never considered a mosaic. I'm not sure I'm going to like this, but I have a beautiful 6 ct. black diamond ring that I love so maybe I'll love this too.

I'm interested in this ring

I like this ring because it is like wearing a pebble so many of which are worthy of being set into jewelry  I may put in an offer for this piece. I'd wear it stacked with other natural stones.

sister's ring search

My sister's two sons' birthstones are emerald and garnet. I suggested to get away from the Christmas red and green combo and to go for something like this: green on green. Green garnets are beautiful!

my next purchase

I think by next Christmas I might be able to buy these babies. This Christmas I already have a target purchase. So as not to shop randomly I like to pick out purchases in advance. Oh course you have to leave room in your budget for those lucky finds that just come your way! Carpe Diem is my motto.

Kate Spade Bling

I've had this Kate Spade ring for several months now and just wasn't inspired to wear it. But now with the Holidays coming up I know it will be one of my favorites. I like to think about wearing it while camping over the Thanksgiving Holiday in the desert with out trailer.

charming pair

These two necklaces together don't add up to four dollars, but they have become my favorite pair for Fall. I'm not into hunting but something about deer season and Thanksgiving seems to be in the air, making this a timely combination. This pair proves to me that you only have to have an eye for cool combinations to be stylish. Money is not the point.

charm rings

I've never seen a charm I didn't love. Here are some DIY charm rings. I just attach a charm to a plain band with a jump ring. If the ring fits, the charm will stay in place at the front of your finger.

enhanced dog bracelet

Here is a pic of my dog charm bracelet with all my birthday charms on board. I've been wearing this non-stop since I got it put together over the month of September. I even have one charm that is a bear because whenever I see a bear, I always think it's a big brown dog.

silk flower

Silk flowers are a lost art. I used to have some beautiful ones from Japan but sold them with out realizing what I was really giving up. I found this rose at Emily's Garden in downtown Quincy. I matched it up with a pink lace scarf. I know I'll use this all winter!

Doe ring

I will try to take better pictures of this new ring in the shape of a doe again soon. I just wasn't getting good performance out of my camera today. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right moment. This ring goes with my stag's head ring. And sits atop the hand,

Birthday stone

I have never loved my birthday stone of sapphire for September as much as I do this year after Richard bought me the large navette sapphire ring on my middle finger. Add a couple of diamonds and these rings really pop.

Hippie fest

I just see myself wearing some of these crystal necklaces and the darling crocheted footlets at some hippie wedding on the beach somewhere. Come on people; don't we know anyone whose getting married?

large heart

I want this bracelet! Those who know me well know my fetish for large hearts. This is a bracelet. I think I will order it since it looks like I can fix it to fit my small wrist! Who can beat Jewelry from China on eBay?

shell

I love jeweled shells and have a collection of them. This one is a volute from China and would go perfectly with my necklace of jeweled shells shown below.

Isn't this a lovely collection of vintage flowers. I don't have room for any more vintage stuff, but I love this lot.

more charms

I've added some new charms since I last featured this bracelet  most notably the big dachshund which I got in Richmond VA and the black cat which I had lying around. I also got a gold little puppy and want to add more gold charms in the future.

heart ring

So I got this heart shaped ring in the mail today. It's from China and I think really cool. Let's just say it was less than five bucks including the shipping. There was a beautiful version of this "living heart" by Digby and Iona that I fell in love with but couldn't afford at the time. This is a nice substitute.

metal clad dogs

As a dog lover, I made this little charm bracelet with old gumball prizes from the '40's and '50's. They are actually metal clad plastic forms and are in lovely shape for being so old. I'll have to wear this only for special events.

another dolphin

I found the gold dolphin in San Mateo and recently found the new silver one online. They are both at home on my pink jeans jacket which my sister Amy gave me.

new moon

I love this new moon pendant that I saw on Gem Gossip. I have moon and sun faces hanging throughout my house and would love to have this vintage piece!

Another deer

 I'm bidding on this piece from China. I know I'm not quite hip enough for this but what the heck? Huh? Wish me luck. The bid price is now at $2.59.
