Russian Rings?

Aren't these rings gorgeous? Thanks to Gem Gossip for the central pic. These rings seem very Russian to me. Don't ask me why. Something I got out of War and Peace, I guess. The other pics are off Pinterest and you can find where their from by checking out my board called Rings etc.

Mermaid dress

Ash Marie this post is for you! I took your favorite gown and added what I thought were the best accessories for it. I love the little carved man. He's kind of like a merman for this mermaid like dress. The shoes continue the watery-like theme and the tourmaline ring is just plain beautiful.

We all deserve a crown

What can I say? We all deserve a crown especially if we go through the trouble of sitting down and making ourselves one. At the end of a hard day I like to tell my husband to sit himself down and proclaim himself king. I really need to make him a crown!

Rings for that dress

A cocktail ring for this dress wouldn't be hard at all to find. The question is what shoes would you wear with this dress to update it? Send me your suggestions at m.lynwalters@gmail.com.
Ash Marie suggests these!

three necklaces

Today I'm layering three of my favorite necklaces. The celestial face is of the dark side of the moon. The hand, an uHamsa, and the red pendant, died coral. They are on graduated lengths of chain so they don't clash with each other. I'm wearing this ensemble with a white shirt and red pair of tights.

out on the town

Now this would be a nice outfit for an evening out on the town. The next time there's a concert at the
Town Hall Theater, I'd like to be sporting this look. Actually the dress and ring would be fabulous but then add the frog braclet, and OMG! You'd need to have the exact right green heels, all strappy and such. (Thanks to GemGossip for the discovery of the Golden Frog).

good luck ring?

This is a ring I just bought for myself. Four hearts and four dots. It's Mexican silver. And round, my favorite shaped ring. And less than $20, my price range. I find this ring really harmonious. The symbol seems significant but like I just can't place it. Like it's from a dream I had but don't remember. It happens to be exactly my size too. Anyway it seemed to be especially for me. So it's on its way. Maybe with some other good luck too?

my hands today

I'm wearing all my trendy rings on my left hand today: The double hearts, the crystal, and the eyeball. On my right I  have two of my all time favs, my stag's head and Indain head medallions along with two turquoise classics. The turquiose flower is really fun, and I like to wear it all summer long. Remember I want to see your rings! Send me a pic of your hands wearing your rings and I will run a series of them here. Please do! My email is m.lynwalters@gmail.com

modernist sample

Just a sample of some midcentury modern pieces that really ring my chimes. I love the clean lines and interesting but ultimately classic designs. These are also pieces that would be very hip to wear today!

Digby and Iona

When I think dainty I think of Digby and Iona. This designer makes the most whimsical yet edgy, not to mention dainty pieces. Every piece is beautifully made. One of my greatest jewelry regrets was not buying a stags head ring which is now no longer offered. It was just lovely and I blogged about it but I was feeling poor. Now I really am poor. I have made a few jewerlry mistakes that would have easily paid for this one designer piece. Always go with what you really love. And skip the marginal stuff.

Judith Ripka intaglio

I like these Judith Ripka intaglio pastel signet rings. I was going to get one for my daughter-in-law but after our last jewelry debate I think I'll have to ask her first. I'm thinking she'll think it's too chunky. It seems that all the younger women like the real dainty look which I like too. But as a young adult of the 80's dainty will always mean you don't have enough money for the real stuff! Just kidding. I'll do a post on some of my favorite dainty jewelry soon.

mandala rings

I love to find two ring that are so different yet look so nice together. It seems like both turquoise and opals are really catching my eye these days. And I love mandala or flower shaped rings. They are very soothing shapes to wear. Gentle on the eyes.

ceramic beads

I love how these two necklaces go together. I found the pink one yesterday at the Nifty Trifty and had gotten the yellow one years ago when there was an antique store in one of the old department store buidlings in downtown Reno. Neither cost much. But they are so fun to wear together. The beads are ceramic and have a nice warm touch. I have other silver beads that I can wear with these to dress them up. To my local readers rest assured you will see me in town wearing these babies!

turtles

I  just got this cunnung turquoise inlaid turtle brooch. It completes my little collection of inlaid turtles, no? I'm not sure where it originates. India? Mexico? Anyone out there know? The workmanship in obviously handmade. And very nicely done. Something this nice would be in a king's treasure just a few short centuries ago. I feel rich. It's so easy to feel rich with today's thrift store treasures!

ring combo

Because I have this right (left), I am interested in the one at the bottom of the page, cracked stone and all. I just think the two rings would go so well together! When I shop I'm always looking for ways to compliment what I already have. There are many people watching this ring and it has already been reduced by 30% but I think it should come down another 20%. I mean the crack in the stone is pretty serious. So I'm holding out. Plus I need my money for my trip to SF next week.

My 400th Post!

To celebrate my 400th post I've gone back in the archives to find one of my favorite posts, a look that says brought up from a sunken Spanish
galleon. Emeralds and gold. One of my favorite looks. I have to admitt that I haven't worn these pieces as much as I'd like because they are very dramatic. But I'm going to a drama workshop in San Francisco next week so  maybe I should take these pieces along! Remember everyone, send me your pics of your own real rings. To m.lynwalters@gmail.com. I want the next 400 blogs to include more input from my readers.
