I have to confess that I'm still loving the snake ring fad. I already have three but feel I must have three more! There are so many out there but these are my current favorites. Snake rings can get to be pretty pricey items. But feel free to send me your favorite choices. I'd love to see them and we can all dream, right?

"Let the pebbles be my jewels...'
go bold
You know me by now. Never be afraid to go bold. Heck the weather's warm enough to wear T shirts and cut offs and what dresses up such shockingly casual clothing more than a really bold statement around your neck! I love these new blue beads because they match my glasses (and my purse). So don't be shy. So while you're finding yourself use the process to find some really boss big beads

my hands
I've been really into costume jewelry that is set with small stones. Also I'm enjoying wearing the rings I've made from old brooches. I love the way the anchor looks just for everyday wear and how the big flower would be stunning for a party. The large flower was given to my by one of my best friends. It had been her mother's. I'd hung onto it for months but didn't wear it. Now I know I'll use it in the near future. The first place will be to my friend's house to see if she will want it back in it's new form. I wish I could be a jewelry designer but I have no talent for it. My skill seems to lie in rescuing old things and giving them new life.

Bill Ikler Designs
Look at these beautiful pieces! They were made by one of Richard's old friends whom he has described to me forever without once mentioning he was a jeweler!!! Bill Ikler lives in Colorado now and has been a professional jeweler for some 30 years. These are two of his pieces I just love. He has a lovely website at www.billiklerstudio.com. Check this site out to see some wonderful jewelry and craftmanship. To think Richard had this friend for all this time and only now mentioned what he does for a living! I looked Bill up immediately after Richard revealed this info and told Richard it was crazy that knowing my obsession for jewelry he would fail to tell me about this work. Anyway it was a happy day for both of us since Richard emailed Bill, and they have reconnected. Meanwhile I'm lusting after a trip to Colorado so that I feast my eyes on more of Bill's work. Richard claims innocence in keeping this secret from me because he hasn't seen Bill in 35 years. I think the whole thing is hilarious. I mean it's not like Richard and I don't talk. We jabber all day long.
charms
Yes, I'm still hoping for some kind of winter. Got these little items out as a kind of charm. His and hers penguins! And a snowflake ring to boot. As of now clear blue skies with temperatures in the high 50's.

feed back
OK, so I got some feedback that indicated enough about my "musings on life" and get back to the jewelry already! So here are a few things I've picked up since I last posted a jewelry entry. I love the green amethyst tear drop ring above. Green amethyst is just the regular low quality stone that's been heat treated. But the greens are beautiful when the process is done. The other two rings are purely for fun. The little bug is nice because it's set with so many tiny stones. The large green costume piece is wonderful as a pinky ring which is how I wear it.
