Signet rings have been popular since before Hamlet saved himself with one on his ill fated trip to England.
I have collected these rings for a long time. Of course they are not all strictly signets, in that you can sign a wax seal with them, but they remind me of signets and that all it takes me to like them. I am told these are very fashionable right now, and they are not hard to find if you don't care whose initials are on them! Naturally, however I wear my rings that have Ls on them the most often.
